The ultimate Tassie-proof layer

Inspired by local pioneer Florence Perrin, this Merino thermal is built for Tassie's wild weather. Made from ultrafine Australian wool, it keeps you warm during chilly mornings and stays breathable when you're moving. It's soft, naturally odour-resistant, and perfect for layering—whether you're hiking up Cradle Mountain or just heading out for coffee in Launceston.

This Ultrafine knit may cause a slight angled hem, but once worn, any unevenness is unnoticeable as the garment drapes to your shape.

    Easy Care Guide

    • Machine wash 30° gentle/wool cycle
    • Wash with similar colour wool garments
    • Protect your garment by using a laundry bag
    • Use wool or gentle detergent
    • Do not use bleach, optical brighteners, enzymes or softeners (weakens yarn)
    • Lightly reshape and lay flat to dry
    • Use iron on wool/delicate setting (if at all)
    • We recommend hanging your garments to air between wears. Merino wool is naturally antibacterial and odour-resistant, it doesn’t require washing after each wear.

    Micron + Weight

    Micron

Ever wondered why some Merino wool feels like a warm hug while others feel like a prickly cactus by lunchtime? It all comes down to the micron — the measurement of a wool fibre’s diameter. The smaller the number, the finer the fibre, and the softer it feels against your skin.

Not sure where to start? Use this guide to find the perfect softness, feel, and warmth that’s just right for you.

Micron Category Diameter (Microns) Primary Market Use
Ultrafine Merino 14.6µm – 16.5µm High-end luxury apparel and knitwear
Superfine Merino 15.1µm – 18.5µm Suiting, premium base layers, and fine yarn
Fine Merino 18.6µm – 20.5µm General apparel, sportswear, and weaving
Medium Merino 20.6µm – 24.5µm Heavy knitwear, blankets, and carding wool
Strong Merino 24.6µm+ Furnishings and heavy-duty textiles
