Frequently Asked Questions
Why do some items stay out of stock for so long?
Making clothes in Australia is all about passion, even though it comes with its fair share of challenges. A lot of skilled workers are retiring, and technical schools are shutting down, leaving us with a shortage of seamstresses.
Because of this, our local makers work on a smaller scale, focusing on detail and quality rather than pumping out huge quantities like big overseas factories. They also make sure workers get fair pay and good working conditions. This means we can’t whip up new stock overnight.
So, when you’re waiting for a restock, you’re not just waiting for another piece of clothing—you’re backing local jobs and supporting the kind of quality that takes time to get just right. Thanks heaps for your support; it really means a lot!
When will I receive my order?
Orders are dispatched within 2–5 business days; however, please be aware that this timeframe may vary during sales and holidays periods.
Please note that, as we ship from rural Northern Tasmania, delivery times may be longer compared to mainland shipments.
Your parcel is initially collected following a limited local schedule and transported to Launceston for sorting. It is then shipped by sea across the Bass Strait, which adds several days due to port handling and transit before reaching the mainland’s road or rail network.
To check your parcel delivery status, please use the tracking number provided in your email shipping confirmation.
Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free shipping to Australian and New Zealand orders over $180.
How is Bluey different from other outdoor brands?
Bluey is proud to be one of the smallest outdoor brands, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our focus is on making premium Merino gear in small batches, using high-quality Australian Merino wool sourced directly from local farms.
Did you know that around 85–86% of Aussie Merino wool is exported to China, often blended with cheaper fibres and then sold back to us? This process can compromise the softness and quality of the wool.
We do things differently. We do not blend with lesser quality fibres—just Australian Merino, fully traceable back to the farm.
We’re dedicated to local manufacturing because preserving these skills within Australia truly matters.
Soft, authentic, Aussie-made Merino gear—that’s what Bluey is all about.
