Single-source Merino wool, so soft it's like it's forgotten how to itch
If you have ever felt the subtle, constant prickle of standard 18.9-micron Merino, or the sweaty, clammy sensation of synthetic polyester fleece neck warmers, you already know how difficult it is to find a piece that simply feels right against your skin.
We made this double-layered neck gaiter to offer a genuine alternative. It sits in a category completely of its own, made from an exceptionally fine 14.8-micron Insanely Soft Merino wool. This specific batch holds a deep personal history for us, harvested entirely from the final legacy clip of our family farm at Black Mountain in Guyra, NSW. Because this single-origin wool is finite, once this batch is gone, it cannot be replaced.
Because a 14.8-micron fibre is so incredibly fine, the fabric moves with a fluid, completely frictionless smoothness. It is physically incapable of causing itching, providing an absolute zero-itch experience even for those with hypersensitive skin. The extra-long tube silhouette pulls up easily over your chin, nose, and ears, sealing out freezing winter winds without sliding down or feeling bulky under your jacket.
What Sets It Apart
- Double-Layered Warmth: Dual layers lock in body heat and block freezing winds without adding heavy bulk.
- 14.8 Micron Luxury: An elite, ultra-fine wool grade that provides cloud-soft, zero-itch comfort for sensitive skin.
-
Australian Grown & Made: Ethically sourced from our single-origin family farm at
Black Mountain (Guyra, NSW) and proudly manufactured locally. - Extended Full-Coverage: An elongated silhouette that effortlessly pulls up to protect your nose, face, and ears.
- Natural Performance: 100% pure Merino wool that breathes dynamically, wicks moisture, and naturally resists odours.

Micron
Ever wondered why some Merino wool feels like a warm hug while others feel like a prickly cactus by lunchtime? It all comes down to the micron — the measurement of a wool fibre’s diameter. The smaller the number, the finer the fibre, and the softer it feels against your skin.
Not sure where to start? Use this guide to find the perfect softness, feel, and warmth that’s just right for you.
| Micron Category | Diameter (Microns) | Primary Market Use |
|---|---|---|
| Ultrafine Merino | 14.6µm – 16.5µm | High-end luxury apparel and knitwear |
| Superfine Merino | 15.1µm – 18.5µm | Suiting, premium base layers, and fine yarn |
| Fine Merino | 18.6µm – 20.5µm | General apparel, sportswear, and weaving |
| Medium Merino | 20.6µm – 24.5µm | Heavy knitwear, blankets, and carding wool |
| Strong Merino | 24.6µm+ | Furnishings and heavy-duty textiles |

Weight
The weight number used for each garment represents the fabric’s weight in grams per square metre. The higher the number, the warmer and heavier the garment.
| Weight Category | GSM Range | Typical Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Featherweight | 75–120 gsm | Tropical climates, high-intensity summer activities. |
| Ultralight | 140–180 gsm | Standard T-shirts, summer base layers, travel wear. |
| Mid-weight | 190–220 gsm | Fall/Winter base layers, active mid-layers. |
| Heavyweight | 230–340+ gsm | Thick hoodies, thermal leggings, extreme cold protection. |
Easy Care Guide
Easy Care Guide

- Machine wash 30° gentle/wool cycle
- Wash with similar colour wool garments
- Protect your garment by using a laundry bag
- Use wool or gentle detergent
- Do not use bleach, optical brighteners, enzymes or softeners (weakens yarn)
- Lightly reshape and lay flat to dry
- Use iron on wool/delicate setting (if at all)
- We recommend hanging your garments to air between wears. Merino wool is naturally antibacterial and odour-resistant, it doesn’t require washing after each wear.
